UberASSIST / Uber WAV

uberASSIST

Need an extra hand getting in and out of the vehicle? uberASSIST is designed to provide additional assistance to seniors and people with disabilities. Driver-partners are specifically trained by Open Doors Organization to assist riders into vehicles and can accommodate folding wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters.

uberWAV

UberWAV allows riders with relevant disabilities to request wheelchair accessible vehicles. When riders select the UberWAV option, they’re connected with vehicles equipped with ramps or lifts.

  • Typical Vehicle Type: Ford Transit Connect, Ford E-150, Chrysler Town & Country
  • Number of Docking Locations for a Rider in a Wheelchair: 1
  • Number of Ambulatory Rider Seats: 2+
  • Total Number of Riders: 3+
  • Ramp or Lift Capacity: 600+ lbs
  • Ramp or Lift Usable Width: 31.5+ inches

Schedule an Uber in advance

Uber now includes the option to schedule a ride 15 minutes to 30 days in advance using the Scheduled Rides feature.

HOW TO SCHEDULE

1. Tap the car icon with the clock located just to the right of the “Where to?” bar
Select a date and a 15-minute window of time
2. Tap SET PICKUP TIME
3. The pickup location will automatically set to your current location. Tap “Current Location” to edit the pickup location. You’ll have to move where the cursor is set.
4. Set your destination
5. Review your fare estimate and tap SCHEDULE.

CHANGING OR CANCELLING YOUR RIDE

1. In the app menu, tap Your Trips.
2. Select Upcoming
3. Select EDIT TIME or CANCEL RIDE

Lyft Access Mode

The Lyft app allows passengers with accessibility needs to enable Access Mode. In certain markets, when Access Mode is enabled, vehicles that are specially outfitted to accommodate wheelchairs will be dispatched in lieu of a standard Lyft vehicle. In markets where those vehicles are not available, information regarding local services will be sent directly to the passenger via text message when the ride is requested.

To enable Access Mode:

  1. Tap on your photo in the top left, then tap ‘Settings’ in the app
  2. Tap ‘Services’
  3. Tap ‘Access’ to enable

How to schedule rides

  1. Open the Lyft app
  2. Tap ‘Set pickup’
  3. Tap the clock icon next to your pickup location
  4. Scroll up or down to choose a day and pickup time
  5. Tap ‘Confirm.’ That’s it!

Dodger Stadium Express

The Dodger Stadium Express is free for all ticketholders. Fans are encouraged to use public transit to connect to the Dodger Stadium Express at Union Station or the South Bay.

Dodger Stadium Express – Union Station

  • Your game ticket is good for the fare. Those without a ticket will pay regular one-way fare of $1.75.
  • The Union Station service uses a dedicated bus lane on Sunset Boulevard from Union Station to Vin Scully Avenue.
  • Dodger Stadium Express boards near the passenger drop off/valet area near Mozaic Apartments in Union Station West.
  • Buses run every 10 minutes, starting 90 minutes before game time.
  • You can exit at one of two stops – behind Center Field or at the Top Deck. Service back to Union Station will pick up at the same stops after the game.
  • Return service runs for 45 minutes after the final out or 20 minutes after post-game events. Dodger Stadium Express will now drop off at two locations at Union Station near the Mozaic Apartments and Cesar Chavez/Alameda.
  • Parking at Union Station is $8.

Dodger Stadium Express – South Bay Service

  • Your game ticket is good for the fare. Those without a ticket will pay regular one-way fare of $2.50.
  • Fans can board at any of the following stations: Slauson, Manchester, Harbor Freeway, Rosecrans, or Harbor Gateway Transit Center (Bay 9).
  • Buses run every 20 minutes, starting 2 hours before game time with the last bus leaving Harbor Gateway Transit Center at game time.
  • You’ll be dropped off behind Right Field. Service back to the South Bay will pick up at the same stop after the game.
  • Return service begins after the end of the 7th inning, and ends 45 minutes after the final out or 20 minutes after post-game events.

  3. Arrive at the stadium early, the accessible/handicapped parking spots fill up fast. Give yourself time and enjoy the iconic stadium
  4. Recommend using Google maps if you are driving to Dodger Stadium; Uber and Lyft are options too.
